Netgear WNCE2001 review and installation video.
In this video I show you what's in the box with the WNCE2001 wifi to ethernet adapter, and I show you how to set it up. It's very easy; in fact, it was much simpler than I thought it would be.
I have a Yamaha RX-V675 receiver and it it has an Ethernet port in the back. I needed a way to plug the RX-V675 into my network without running a 50-foot cable down the stairs. This was the ticket. Yamaha's recommended accessory is the YWA-10. This product gets some pretty terrible reviews on different sites and costs $100. I wasn't about to spend $100 on a product that had poor reviews (dropped connections, etc.). So I started looking for alternatives.
Enter the Netgear WNCE2001 WiFi to Ethernet adapter. This little device is tiny and fits easily in the palm of my hand. It came with two power cords (one USB cord for plugging into an extra USB port in your network-enabled device--and one AC adapter). And the cost? $50. Half the price of the Yamaha YWA-10.
Setup for the Netgear WNCE2001 was a breeze. It literally took me about 5 minutes. If you have a Netgear router it's even easier! Just press a couple buttons and you're done. Or, if your router has WPS, it's also just pressing a couple buttons. But even if your router doesn't have WPS . . . it's still extremely simple as I demonstrate in this video.
Simply plug your Netgear WNCE2001 into your computer (after unplugging your computer from your network) and plug either power cord (USB or AC) into either a USB port on your computer or into the wall. Then open a browser and your Netgear configuration screen will appear. Simply follow the onscreen instructions (takes about five minutes) and you're done. After that you just take the device wherever you want it in the house and plug in a power cord and plug in the network cable into the device you want to have network access.
With the Netgear WNCE2001 you can add network connectivity to any device with an ethernet port.
This device is small, it's easy to set up, it's cheap ($50 or less), it works consistently (at least it has for me thus far) and it works with any network-enabled device with an ethernet port (think PS3, HDTV, old blu-ray player, receiver, etc.).Link:
